Our Name

Our name pays homage to Chicken Street in Kabul — historically one of the most famous markets in Central Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia for antiques, coins, carpets, and collectibles. For generations, Chicken Street has been the place where history changes hands, where a worn coin pulled from a wooden tray might turn out to be a rare survivor from a forgotten dynasty. That spirit of discovery is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Story

After recognizing that the domestic U.S. coin market was heavily saturated, we began exploring world coins — and quickly realized that Afghan and Islamic coins represented one of the most underserved niches in the entire numismatic marketplace. Quality Afghan coins were either buried in low-value listings or priced out of reach for the average collector. The gap was clear.

Rooted in both New York City and Afghanistan, with deep personal ties to Afghan history and culture, we were uniquely positioned to fill that gap.
